Letter from the Principal
Dear Alumni Family and Friends,
We send greetings from Newbury Park to you wherever you are. Thank you for being an important part of our more than 70-year history. We are so proud of our alumni as they have spread out around the world, making a difference in big and small ways wherever they are.
We are also blessed by the many alumni who continue to make a difference in the daily lives of our students currently on campus as we continue to provide them with a quality, Christian education. According to our students, NPAA is the place where friends become family. This has often been affirmed by our alumni as they revisit our school.
The atmosphere of the school this year reflects the attitude of blessings we have as we move back into full-time, on-campus learning. Although the pandemic challenged us in many ways, we have been blessed with stable enrollment and adequate funding for our program. Thankfully, Ventura County has opened up many of the early restrictions that some schools are still struggling with today.
In the classrooms, while our students are still masking and following health protocols, the extreme cleaning and distancing have become history. Full, in-class learning and discussions are the focus of our academics. Our music department, sports teams, and field trips are actively engaging our students as they expand the students’ opportunities for extra-curricular opportunities to interact with other schools. Our dorms are full of vibrant, healthy students, enjoying their Newbury family.
Our goal this year is to create a more engaged and vibrant Alumni presence online and for Alumni Weekend 2022. With many of the restrictions being lifted, we are planning to have an in-person Alumni Weekend, April 9, 2022, the second weekend of April. Put it on your calendar now so you can join us once again! Don’t wait until your honor year -- join us every year as we reconnect with our NPAA family. We are planning some new additions to our regular weekend activities: remember the cars you used to drive, your favorite Sabbath breakfast of cinnamon rolls, hikes you used to love to take, teachers you loved to connect with? Don’t miss it.
We are also looking to increase your communication with us. How can we better keep you connected? Our alumni remind us of the purpose of our work: developing character, wisdom, and service for now and eternity. If you have ideas, plans or even simply news about what you are doing or ways you would like to be involved, please contact our office and we will put you in contact with one of our staff members.
